My Morning Skincare Routine

We have discussed my skin here before. For years, it was a MESS. I suffered with acne from the age of about 13 through my mid twenties. Even after I got it under control, I had acne scars and uneven skin to deal with.

I have been working hard on finding a routine that is simple and effective. I have tried many different combos and this is without a doubt the best one I have tried! My skin is brighter, more radiant, more even toned and I even regularly go without makeup these days (something I would have NEVER been able to do before. So lets jump into it with my favorite products.

PS: You can save on all the Tula products I have shared with code SOUTHERNBELL

Step 1: Cleanser

I use THIS cleanser with cold water every morning. It cleans well and is very gentle on my skin. The perfect prep for skin care.

Step 2: Serum

THIS Vitamin C serum is by far my favorite. I have used it for 2 years and even though I have tried others over the years, I always come back to this one. It has the added benefit of hyaluronic acid to really amp up the glow. And it is only $17! Such a steal!

Step 3: Spot Treatment (if needed)

Even though I am out of my bad acne stage, I still see that occasional pimple pop up around my time of the month or during times of stress. THIS spot treatment is amazing! It works so quickly and my pimples are gone within a day or two.

Step 4: Moisturizer

I have tried several moisturizers over the years. I thought I always had oily skin and was steering towards moisturizers made for that, but found that I was overproducing oil because those moisturizers and products just were not right for me. THIS one absorbs so quickly and is non-greasy, plus it keeps my skin hydrated and glowing all day!

Step 5: Sunscreen

Please please PLEASE put on sunscreen every day. It is such an important step to your skin care and prevents future damage! Ie: keeping you look youthful longer. I have used THIS ONE for about 3 years. It’s tinted so gives my skin a nice touch of color, plus it has ingredients in it that reduce the redness in your skin immediately, then even heals the cause over time (like acne scarring). I absolutely love it.

Step 6: Primer

I wear a primer every day whether or not I’m wearing foundation that day or not. I just like the way it makes my skin look. I use THIS primer for non foundation days, because it adds a touch of color and blurs imperfections. If I plan to wear foundation then I use THIS primer, because it smooths my skin and grips my makeup for all day wear!

Need evidence of my skin? Look at this no filter, no foundation photo! My skin looks ALMOST as good as my little man’s perfect baby skin! This routine really works for me!
